Summer is such a busy time of year, and sometimes it can seem like a bad time for a website design. I recently celebrated 14 years of running a website design business. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about what works for me and what doesn’t. Most of the time, I work from home, but sometimes I need a change of scenery. On those days, I love supporting local coffeeshops and working remotely. It helps to balance the VIP Days I offer, which require me to be in my office where I can be completely focused and uninterrupted all day long. Do you work from home? My youngest graduated from high school this past weekend. And with that event, we closed the chapter on 16 years of home education. I will forever treasure that journey! This business was started as a way to earn income from home, to enable me to be able to homeschool. I’m so grateful for each of you who have chosen to hire me for your website designs over the years. Thank you! Way back in 2008, I started a blog and decided to design it myself. (Yes, I was one of those old school mommy bloggers!) My daughters were young, and I found connection and community through sharing our stories online. Those were the early days, and so I found my online home at Blogspot. (By the way, if you are still on Blogspot, we need to talk! 😂) Before long, others were asking me to design their sites too. I dove into all things blog design and started taking on projects when I was ready, first on Blogspot and then exclusively on self-hosted WordPress. And here we are, 14 years later.
